bitLanders ‘Gamified Donation System’ Results in bitCharities

The social media platform bitLanders gives its charity section a life of its own. bitCharities mission is to educate and support charities interested in accepting bitcoin donations.

Francesco Rulli, CEO and founder of bitLanders and bitCharities has been going from strength to strength, leveraging bitcoins low friction and global reach. At bitLanders Rulli introduced bitcoin as a reward mechanism for posting content, harnessing the powers of the World Wide Web. “This is a space without borders where billions of people can exchange ideas and opportunities,” he explained. Rulli is now looking to expand his reach to charities around the world.

bitLanders introduced a charities page in January, and recently announced the section would have a life of its own as bitCharities. The move is in line with the educational philosophies of bitLanders; to provide charities with an easy to use platform. “Most Charities are quite unaware of Bitcoin and how it works, in spite of major for profit companies like Dell, Microsoft, Expedia and Orange now taking Bitcoin,” says Rulli.

According to Rulli, bitCharities is the perfect platform to educate users and to motivate people to make donations, even if they are small. “Our main benefit with bitCharities is that we create an ecosystem and collaboration between users and charities to make a better world, increase donations, eliminate costs and optimize funds spending down to the single Satoshi,”

Using bitcoin rewards received from Buzz Scores, users are able to donate directly to the charity of their choice, knowing that bitCharities guarantees 100% of the funds will reach the destination.

bitLanders users are also incentivized to invite the extended network of more than 180 million fans and friends to join the bitCharities movement, resulting in donations from all over the world.

Switching to Bitcoin is still viewed to be a complex conversation for many charities. bitCharities aims to educate gradually, in a simple and accessible approach. “We work with each charity to first introduce them to the bitLanders ecosystem. We promote their initiative and brand to our user base, we also educate them on how to navigate bitLanders revenue pages,” said Rulli.

bitCharities introduces the charities and non profits to receiving payments in Bitcoin, and if they do not have a wallet bitCharities will provide appropriate information “We do one step at a time, we use avatars and a fun bitLanders user interface to educate them on what Bitcoin is, just like we do with the [bitLanders] users,” said Rulli.

Each charity has it’s own page, which describes its mission and brand, on bitCharities. Much like buying a gift card, bitLanders users can purchase a listed donation, supporting a charity of their choice.

According to Rulli, users in the USA and many outside of the USA have embraced the "Gamified Donation System" of bitLanders. In addition to learning what each charity or non-profit organization does, they also donate regularly to those organizations.
