Palladium Price Analysis: Metal Holds Near $1,245 as Recovery Attempts Face Resistance

The palladium price is struggling to gain traction following a period of volatility that has taken it down from the highs posted earlier in 2026.

Price is currently trading around $1,245 per ounce, with price chart indicators showing a degree of consolidation on the daily timeframe following a quick move lower from the year’s peak area.

From a short-term TradingView chart, palladium’s price is consolidating and holding within a narrow trading range after it failed to sustain a rally through the $1,260 resistance zone. Broader technical charts remain negative and are indicating a large correction phase that set in after the metal was trading above $2,000 for part of this year.

The market now looks for either new support to hold firm or for selling momentum to once again gain prominence. The palladium price lost around 1.2% for the day, according to Investing.com data, and has a +2.7% reading over the past month, although it is still trading on the lower side over the past six months from its prior spike.

Palladium Price Tests Support After Extended Decline

Palladium’s chart is showing the metal attempting to bounce higher from earlier lows but failing to gather substantial upward momentum on its daily TradingView chart. Price bounced from the $1,230/1,240 zone and was attempting to work up towards resistance at around $1,260.

Buyers look to be defending current price action; however, given the narrow trading range seen today with selling pressure and further weakness, price has declined back towards $1,245, as seen in the previous day’s price closing.

Palladium Price Tests Support After Extended Decline

The long-term perspective on palladium’s price trend has not fully turned positive. Based on the daily TradingView chart, the trendline shows palladium moving lower steadily from its near $2,000 levels that the market had been trading in earlier this year. After reaching its highs, the metal entered an extremely large correction phase and has remained largely on a decline, which has brought the price right to the current support area.

For the price to confirm a recovery on a wider basis, the price needs to push above key resistance at $1,260–$1,300; price action may improve. If selling pressure increases in the underlying markets for Pd, prices can be pushed lower.

Technical Indicators Show Weak Momentum Recovery

Based on the daily trading view on technical indicators, palladium is -0.13. The technical indicators on palladium are showing a lack of confidence and some indecision among buyers—sellers have yet to take overall control. Palladium’s Relative Strength Index (RSI) shows a reading of just under 46.

Technical Indicators Show Weak Momentum Recovery

The RSI level currently shows price in neutral conditions. This suggests buyers or sellers currently lack clear command. A break beyond 50 would signify improved strength for buyers, while movement in the direction of the bottom 30 could alert buyers of impending weakness among them. Palladium’s MACD indicator reflects an ongoing positive trend but not to such an extent as to inspire new entries.

The MACD remains below the zero line, suggesting that its overall trajectory remains negative at present but has leveled off considerably, as can be seen in the narrowing of the MACD lines close to one another. The combined neutral RSI and slightly moving MACD imply that this market may be bottoming and could stage a turnaround once strong buying appears and a breakthrough in resistance is seen.

Palladium Market Watches Recovery Levels After Pullback

Meanwhile, the below-referenced chart from Investing.com illustrates palladium moving in late 2025 on its way up toward $2,000 and the subsequent sharp decline in price on the back of profit-taking or other negative influences, bringing price action all the way down to the below-listed price zones, which is in the $1200-$1250 region.

Palladium Market Watches Recovery Levels After Pullback

Overall, 1 year of palladium price analysis shows palladium prices gaining 1.90%, which is positive, but 5 years shows losses of some 53%. Now all interest is focused on whether these current levels can hold and buyers can secure the support around $1,230 so buyers can push the metal higher to contest the levels previously touched at the $1,260 region.

A push above $1260 would carry price levels all the way to 1300, with traders now betting against prices falling beneath recent levels; failure, and prices will be testing lower ranges.
