Arthur Hayes

Arthur Hayes obtained his BA in Economics at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 2008. Subsequently he moved to Hong Kong where worked as an equity derivatives trader for Deutsche Bank and Citigroup for 5 years. Arthur made markets on the Hong Kong and Singapore stock exchanges on 50+ Exchange Trade Funds (ETFs). In January 2014, Arthur along with two other individuals began building BitMEX - Bitcoin Mercantile Exchange. The aim was to create an exchange where commercial hedgers, Bitcoin miners, and professional traders can trade Bitcoin derivatives. Arthur used his experience trading in the traditional financial markets to help create a professional Bitcoin derivatives exchange. BitMEX opened its doors in November of 2014 and is fast becoming the exchange where professional investors trade Bitcoin and cryptocurrency derivatives.
