Ethereum (ETH) Price Prediction: $74M Liquidation Flush Puts the $2,450 Support Zone in the Spotlight

Ethereum (ETH) is testing the crucial $2,450 support zone after a sharp liquidation flush, with traders watching for another attempt to reclaim $2,550
Ethereum is trading near $2,483 after falling roughly 1.47% over the past 24 hours, according to Brave New Coin data. ETH briefly pushed towards $2,600 during the latest session before giving back the move, leaving the price back inside the broader range that has controlled trading over recent days.
ETH Range Holds as $2,450-$2,480 Support Gets Another Test
Ethereum price remains inside its short-term trading range after another rejection from the upper boundary. Price recently reached the first resistance target before rotating lower, bringing the $2,450-$2,480 demand region back into focus.

Famous crypto chartist Eliz highlighted that the previous long trigger worked as expected, with ETH filling the long position and reaching the first take-profit level. The chart now shows price returning towards the lower part of the range, where another reaction around $2,465-$2,480 could determine whether buyers can launch a fresh attempt higher.
The larger upside scenario still requires a breakout from the range. If ETH can recover the upper boundary and establish stronger acceptance above it, the chart leaves room to expand towards $2,700 and eventually $2,800.
$2,550 Remains the Key Ethereum Breakout Level
Ethereum failed to secure a weekly close above $2,550, leaving the same resistance level in control of the higher-timeframe structure. Price has tested this region repeatedly, but buyers have not yet managed to turn it into support. Ted Pillows continues to identify $2,550 as the major reclaim level. His chart shows ETH trading immediately beneath this resistance, with the next major zone positioned around $2,800 if buyers can eventually force a confirmed breakout.
The broader projection places $3,000 back into focus once $2,550 is recovered and held. However, the chart also shows meaningful downside levels if the breakout continues to fail, including support around $2,185 and a deeper area close to $1,965.

Ethereum Leads $109 Million Crypto Liquidation Wave
Recent volatility has already had a major impact on leveraged traders. Crypto liquidations reached approximately $109 million within a single hour, with Ethereum accounting for around $74.05 million of the total.

Bitcoin was a distant second at roughly $21.6 million, showing how heavily the latest market move was concentrated around ETH. The liquidation event followed Ethereum’s sharp price swings around the $2,500-$2,600 region.
Large liquidation events can temporarily accelerate price moves as leveraged positions are automatically closed. For Ethereum, the latest flush reinforces the importance of waiting for stronger confirmation around the current range rather than treating every intraday move as a confirmed breakout.
Technical Outlook: $2,454 as Support and $2,592 as Resistance
The one-hour Ethereum chart provides a clearer view of the levels controlling the current move. After rallying towards the upper resistance area, ETH was rejected and has fallen back towards $2,485.
X analyst Stefan B’s chart places an important support level around $2,454, with a broader demand region stretching through roughly $2,440-$2,460. This zone has already produced several reactions and remains the first major area buyers need to defend if Ethereum continues lower.

On the upside, resistance is concentrated around $2,580-$2,592, followed by another level close to $2,610. ETH recently rejected from this upper region, making a fresh move through approximately $2,592-$2,610 necessary before the short-term structure can shift decisively higher.
Ethereum Short-Term Indicators Showing Oversold Levels
Ethereum’s short-term momentum has weakened considerably following the rejection from the $2,590-$2,600 area. On the 30-minute chart, ETH has slipped back towards roughly $2,480 while several momentum indicators are approaching oversold territory.
RSI has fallen to around 33, placing it close to the traditional oversold threshold at 30. This shows selling pressure has become stretched in the short term, although RSI has not yet produced a clear recovery signal.
The Stochastic oscillator is already deeper in oversold territory, with both lines sitting near the lower end of the range around 14-16. MACD remains bearish, with the MACD line below the signal line and the histogram still negative. Together, the indicators suggest downside momentum remains active, but ETH is reaching levels where a short-term relief bounce could begin if buyers defend the nearby $2,450-$2,480 support region.
Final Thoughts: Can ETH Finally Turn $2,550 Into Support?
Ethereum has made several attempts to break higher, but buyers still have not produced the weekly confirmation needed above $2,550. The repeated rejection from this area means the broader recovery remains unfinished despite ETH continuing to hold above its lower range support.

The immediate battle is now fairly clear. Holding $2,450-$2,480 keeps the range intact and allows another test of $2,550. Clearing that level, followed by stronger acceptance above $2,592-$2,610, would materially improve the setup and bring $2,700-$2,800 back into focus.
A loss of the lower range would change that outlook and increase the probability of a deeper pullback. For now, Ethereum remains caught between support around $2,450 and resistance around $2,550, with whichever side breaks first likely to determine the next larger directional move.
