FTX Taps Eventus For Global Trade Surveillance and Risk Monitoring

Cryptocurrency exchange FTX has announced that it has contracted with Eventus to deploy the firm’s Validus platform for trade surveillance and risk monitoring on all FTX markets worldwide.

Validus was chosen by FTX US for transaction surveillance and risk management on the FTX US spot market and FTX US Derivatives, its registered cryptocurrency futures and options exchange and clearinghouse, late last year. The latest announcement expands that relationship to FTX’s global business.

Based in Austin, Texas, Eventus is a major global provider of trade monitoring and market risk solutions across a range of asset classes including stocks, options, futures, foreign currency (FX), fixed income, and digital assets. Its Validus platform is used for trade surveillance and monitoring.

Powered by advanced AI, Validus can detect every type of market manipulation strategy including Reg NMS/order marking, intermarket sweep orders (ISOs), spoofing, layering, wash trading, momentum ignition, and more. The platform is highly configurable and combines alerting, investigation and remediation into a single platform.

With other major exchanges such as Gemini and BitMEX also deploying Eventus solutions, company CEO Travis Schwab says platforms like Validus provide exchanges with a mission-critical toolset both for meeting compliance and regulatory goals – and for reputation protection – as consumers become more concerned about how exchange manipulation can impact their investments.
