Changelly integrates with Ledger Live

Crypto asset exchange platform Changelly has integrated into the Ledger Live interface. Ledger owners can now use Changelly to exchange 50 crypto assets.

Launched in 2018, the Ledger Live App is at the center of a crypto ecosystem that Ledger says is a “one stop shop experience enabling users to monitor and manage 27 coins and more than 1500 tokens directly from their smartphone or desktop.”

With Changelly now having integrated its API into Ledger Live, Ledger device owners can exchange 50 crypto assets and swap their coins without leaving the app. The integration also ensures exchange capability for owners of the popular Ledger Nano S and Ledger Nano X hardware wallets.

Changelly is a non-custodial instant crypto asset exchange platform that was launched in 2015. Changelly never takes custody of assets, but instead functions as an intermediary between crypto exchanges and users. The company’s point of difference is its simple user experience. Using the intuitive interface users can make simple one-click crypto trades between a variety of assets. This ease of use has made the platform popular with many existing crypto companies who have already integrated with the Changelly API. Changelly partners include MyEtherWallet, Exodus, Binance, BRD, Edge, Coinomi, Trezor, Ledger, Enjin, and the Huobi Wallet.

Changelly’s API allows users to swap cryptocurrencies at fixed exchange rates. Therefore, the rates that are shown in the Ledger Live app are final. Changelly’s CEO Eric Benz says this means Ledger device owners will be provided with a reliable swapping solution and protected from the risk of market fluctuation with a fixed rate mechanism.

Ledger’s integration with Changelly is the latest in a series of updates to the Ledger ecosystem. Last month the company added the ability for users to manage ALGO and Algorand Standard Assets (ASA) directly through Ledger Live platform. Ledger users can hold, transact, manage, and stake ALGO directly with Ledger Live. In addition, Ledger can be used to manage Algorand Standard Assets (ASA), which includes stablecoins (such as USDT), loyalty points, system credits, and single, unique assets issued on the Algorand blockchain.

After first announcing the staking feature last year, Ledger has added new staking options: Algorand (ALGO) is the fourth staking option available in Ledger Live in addition to Tezos (XTZ), TRON (TRX), and COSMOS (ATOM).
