Zoom acquires Keybase in attempt to address privacy issues
Zoom is a video-communications platform that has seen exponential growth as a result of COVID-19 related lockdowns. The company recently acquired Keybase, a privacy and encryption focussed messaging application. The financial details and terms of the acquisition have not been made public.
Kraken continues expansion, acquiring trading platform Cryptowatch
The San Francisco-based bitcoin exchange Kraken recently purchased the popular Bitcoin market chart website Cryptowatch. The popular exchange now includes the distinctive charting interface as part of its website, with the added feature of being able to make trades directly on the page.
Bitcoin becomes 2015’s best performing currency
Bitcoin has had one of its best weeks since August 2014, recording a staggering 28.5% increase in market cap as the price of bitcoin reached US$500, at its peak on November 5. However, the price of bitcoin has since dropped by nearly 20%, consolidating around US$400.
Coinify Becomes Leading European Bitcoin Payment Firm
Bitcoin merchant network Coinify has acquired payment processor Coinzone, for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition makes Coinify one of the leading bitcoin merchant firms in Europe, one of the strongest regions for digital currency adoption.
