BitPay extends payment services with VISA debit card
Founded in 2011, while Bitcoin was still in its infancy, BitPay was created with the intention of making it easy for businesses to accept bitcoin payments. NewEgg, Valve, and Microsoft, to name a few, use the service to extend the payment options displayed on their sites. BitPay accepts bitcoin on a retailer's behalf, and pays them the equivalent in fiat currency, typically U.S dollars. The company is currently the largest bitcoin payment processor in the world, serving more than 60,000 merchants on six continents.
Wirex bitcoin debit card adds bitcoin buy feature
[Wirex Limited](https://wirexapp.com), formerly known as E-Coin, recently announced that they have launched a new feature for their bitcoin debit cards. Users can now purchase bitcoin directly in their app. The company claims their flagship product is now the first “two-way” bitcoin debit card. Cardholders can use the card to exchange fiat currencies for bitcoin, as well as spend bitcoin at places that only accept fiat.
Coinbase reveals the Shift bitcoin debit card is off to a solid start
Towards the end of last year Coinbase partnered with [Shift Payments](https://www.shiftpayments.com), a company that provides Visa debit cards. The team are working hard to enable users to connect a range of funding avenues to the card, including bitcoin.

Bitcoin debit card E-Coin recently teamed up with BitGo to provide a suite of bank-like services for bitcoin users, including access to most ATMs and deposit insurance.
