Storj: A Peer-to-Peer Cloud Storage Network v2.0
Storj is a protocol that creates a distributed network for the formation and execution of storage contracts between peers. The Storj protocol enables peers on the network to negotiate contracts, transfer data, verify the integrity and availability of remote data, retrieve data, and pay other nodes. This is Storj Labs version 2 white paper that describes a concrete implementation of such a network, and a set of tools for interacting with that network.
Storj: A Peer-to-Peer Cloud Storage Network v1.01
A peer-to-peer cloud storage network implementing end-to-end encryption would allow users to transfer and share data without reliance on a third party data provider. The removal of central controls would eliminate most traditional data failures and outages,as well as significantly increasing security, privacy, and data control.
Sia: Simple Decentralized Storage
The authors introduce Sia,a platform for decentralized storage. Sia enables the formation of storage contracts between peers. Contracts are agreements between a storage provider and their client, defining what data will be stored and at what price.
Metadisk: Blockchain-Based Decentralized File Storage
Metadisk is an open source software project seeking to prove conceptually that cloud storage applications can be made more decentralized, more secure, and more efficient. In addition,Metadisk provides a prototyping platform for a fully decentralized network.
