Ex-S&P Capital IQ data executive joins BNC as Head of Business Development

Data and Information Executive Rory Manchee, has joined Melbourne-based blockchain technology vendor BNC. The new Head of Business Development is responsible for planning and executing its Digital Assets Market-Data, business and product development efforts.

Rory was formerly Managing Director at S&P Capital IQ, where he was responsible for a portfolio of credit and fixed income data products in Asia Pacific, and served as the Responsible Officer for Evaluated Pricing. Previously, he was General Manager for legal and regulatory information services at Thomson Reuters, during which time he established a greenfield business in Asia, where he worked for several years.

Based in Melbourne Australia, he reports to BNC Chief Executive Officer Fran Strajnar, and works closely with the CIO & CTO on strategy and product development.

More specifically, all financial markets need reliable, standardised and consistent data for price discovery, liquidity, benchmarks and risk management.

“BNC is providing the market data tools to support trading and investment decisions by brokers, hedge funds and asset managers across multiple digital currencies. In addition, BNC has the capability to design and build Blockchain solutions for a variety of applications, including post trade clearing and settlement, corporate actions, bank feeds and client portfolio management,” Manchee added.

BNC is best known for it’s news and resources. However, behind the scenes development & partnerships have largely focused on data infrastructure solutions to power both conventional Exchange Traded Products and new decentralized trading where blockchain technology is acting as a clearing house.
