Bitcoin presents some interesting challenges for traditional investment funds. The decentralised nature of the burgeoning industry provides quick and easy access to anyone, regardless of financial standing. The industry is also rapidly developing new, easier to use, more secure solutions for Bitcoin acquisition.

“I was inspired to launch Falcon Global Capital after realizing there was a gap in the market for professional investors looking to gain exposure to Bitcoin without having to learn how to acquire, hold and secure Bitcoin on their own. So we initially launched as an investment fund.” – Stapper

Brett Stapper has met challenges with his investment vehicle Falcon Global Capital. The traditional business model of acquiring assets or commodities on behalf of institutions and high net worth individuals is coming apart at the seams as Bitcoin disrupts, and rewrites the rules from the ground up.

“Understanding Bitcoin is challenging… Falcon makes it simple,” Falcon Global Capital states. Stapper explains “we pivoted to a consulting model where we still offer the same services, however, instead of us holding the Bitcoins for the client, we educate them on how to do it themselves.” Stapper continues, “we are also consulting for city, state and national governments who are interested in identifying ways to use Bitcoin blockchain technology to reduce costs.”

Stapper was initially attracted to the Bitcoin industry as he spends much of his time researching and studying disruptive technologies that he believes will have a major impact and create change in the world over.

“When I found Bitcoin, I realized the potential it had to change multiple industries. Shortly after I dedicated all my time to understanding how it works and the full potential it has to offer,”

While other proponents continue to seek regulatory approval, the nature of Stappers organisation allows him to be nimble, “we still operate with a startup mentality which fortunately gave us the ability to pivot into a business model that has more long term potential.”

This may be the flexibility needed in the Bitcoin space. The rapidly changing landscape epitomises the survival of the fittest mentality that business titans hold so dear. As Stapper says, “Bitcoin index funds like our original model have a short expiration date.” As Bitcoin is, by design, accessible to all. Perhaps this switch to a service based business model will be something we see more of in the future.

“We hope that others will eventually join us in this effort. It is an exciting year for Bitcoin and a very important one, we feel having supporters in Government is one of the most crucial and important issues within Bitcoin,” – Stapper

This last year, Stapper has made news headlines on more than one occasion. Earlier in the year he offered to purchase the FBI seized funds of the first Silk Road. He was in the headlines again shortly after,  in May Stapper Became the worlds first Bitcoin Lobbyist.

Stapper is the first registered Bitcoin Lobbiest in the US, talking with Senators and Congressmen, “Our goal is to educate these elected officials and to offer them guidance on how to accept Bitcoin contributions,” explained Stapper. “If we can be successful with these efforts, we feel the Bitcoin ecosystem could be greatly impacted. We are making ourselves available to speak with any politician that wishes to understand Bitcoin and the acceptance of Bitcoin contributions.”

When BraveNewCoin asked if this move has affected his work or personal life he responded in saying, “There were no drastic differences, however I am very cautious in everything that I say, especially on social media. I realize that my personal actions could affect how politicians view Bitcoin technology and I am very careful that my messages are clear, concise and professional at all times,”

The worlds first Bitcoin Lobbyist is a dream position to be in, says Stapper. The outgoing serial entrepreneur and speaker enjoys talking with interesting people, politicians included, “Love them, or hate them, politicians all have very interesting stories of how they came into their position and I find it very exciting to have conversations with these kinds of people. I also feel very fortunate to be involved in such an exciting industry at this level. So every day I wake up and love what I do! I don’t think many people in the world get to say that unfortunately,”

Falcon Global Capital has always offered a slew of consultation services to many institutions, including, but not limited to; Investors, Venture Capital Firms,  Start-ups and early stage companies, State and Local Governments and many more.
